Whimsical 3D adventure game Yonder: The Cloud Chronicles is first and foremost, a journey of self discovery. Developer Prideful Sloth explains that the game will take place on the mythical, lush island of Gemea, which was once a beautiful paradise. But since an evil murk enveloped the land, its people have been left in utter despair.
To restore Gemea to its former glory, players will unearth the island’s mysteries, build relationships with the locals, and contribute to the island through farming, cooking, crafting, fishing and brewing.
Cheryl Vance, co-founder and lead designer of Prideful Sloth provides more details on the game on a Gamasutra press release:
“Yonder features exploration and adventure inspired by classic fantasy franchises, and blends them with fully fleshed out but entirely optional farming gameplay. Adventure fans will instantly recognize Yonder’s mechanics, which are unified in a wholly original way, while finding themselves enraptured in the gorgeous animated world.”
Yonder: The Cloud Chronicles is expected to release by Q2 of 2017 for PC and PlayStation 4. Interested players can currently vote for the game on Steam Greenlight. It will also be one of the games featured at Sony’s PlayStation Experience at the Anaheim Convention Centre.
