Update 1.5 includes the second paid expansion as well as numerous fixes and changes. The biggest feature of this update is the Survival expansion, which introduces a brand new gameplay mode. With Survival, players get a more hardcore experience inside a modified version of Manhattan with survival mechanics and perma death.
Players can work either together or alone to meet their objective, which is to make it to the Dark Zone to find the curve and extract it against heavily armed enemies.
A new list of bug fixes have been added in 1.5, in addition to some balance changes to skills, gear sets, and weapons. Vendors, loot crates, mission rewards, and drops now all will scale to your selected world tier. Enemies also have a chance to drop crafting supplies as well.
New named gear items such as Ferro’s Oxygen Mask and Colonel Bliss’ holster have been added into the game, and each have their own unique talent. These items can only be found in the newly added World Tier 5 bracket, or from Survival Mode.
However, update 1.5 is not available on all platforms. Xbox and PC users have early access to The Division expansions according to the deal between Ubisoft and Microsoft. PS4 users will not be seeing the non-expansion content in this update right away either. Ubisoft has not yet confirmed when the update will be available for PS4 users.
Here are the full patch notes for those of you interested in the nitty-gritty details and specific fixes and additions.
