If you've played Final Fantasy XIV in any way, chances are you're not the least bit surprised that Square Enix has just announced that they've fully re-designed the game.
In a press statement released today, Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Previously referred to as "version 2.0" of Square's latest foray into the MMORPG genre, the publisher claims A Realm Reborn has been rebuilt from the ground up.
Naoki Yoshida, producer and director of Final Fantasy XIV, had this to say regarding the recent announcement:
Since announcing our plans for the future of the title last October, we have been working tirelessly to include all of the elements that we have promised in FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. This new title not only becomes a symbol of a completely new FINAL FANTASY XIV, but also marks the beginning of a new stage as the latest title in the FINAL FANTASY series. I hope you’re looking forward to it!

Currently, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn still doesn't have a release date, but it's expected to come out for the PC and PS3.
