Clap Hanz's Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, the very adorable golf sim for PS Vita, has just received update 1.04. The update adds a bunch of new multiplayer features and improvements to the game, including the addition of two new modes in the Head-to-Head competition (which involves only two players).
The two new modes, labelled as previously being "Ad-hoc only," are called Stroke Mode and Match Mode. In Stroke Mode, the player with the best results at the end of a round wins. This mode allows players to chat with and heckle each other in between holes.
Match Mode challenges players to get a 3UP status during a round. The first player to achieve this wins, and of course, chatting and heckling is still available.
The update also includes a new rank system for Real Mode Tournaments. Players will be rated from G4 (novice) to G0 (strong), and ranking will respond dynamically according to online performance in official Tournaments with more than 10 players at a time. This allows for a ladder-type organization where weaker or beginner players can improve without being pummeled, and more experienced players can be assured that they're playing against similarly-skilled rivals.
The update also introduces seasons to Daily Tournaments. Where previously there were three games a day, now there will be only one so as to make each Tournament more "focused and exciting." Each season will now last seven days, with rankings measured weekly including a Top 10 list and a Weekly Champion.
