Halo 4 will include a number of new weapons and also see the return of many older weapons in the Halo series, some of which have been revamped.
These new weapons remain highly classified (well, in Halo terms) with few released details about them.
In this article, we'll go over each of the game's new weapons that we know about so far, and speculate on how they might work where information about them is scarce.
Promethean Repeater
The Promethean Repeater appears to be the official designation of this weapon, which was available during the E3 Spartan Ops build of the game. It's an energy-emitting assault rifle of sorts.
Promethean Sniper Rifle
This weapon can be best described as a Promethean Sniper Rifle. It has a very long barrel and is capable of delivering death from a long distance away.
Storm Rifle
The Storm Rifle is a rapid-fire weapon that bears some similarity to the Plasma Rifle in previous games. This weapon is wielded by certain members of the Covenant, who remain enemies with the Master Chief.
Light Rifle
The Light Rifle is comparable to the Battle Rifle of UNSC construction, and offers both burst fire and single shot modes.
Scattershot
The Scattershot is the Promethean's shotgun-like weapon which disperses pallets in a wide radius that can also ricochet off surfaces. It's almost identical to the Flak Cannon in the Unreal Tournament games.
Sticky Detonator
The Sticky Detonator is a grenade launcher which uses sticky bombs instead of grenades that bounce off hard surfaces. It's comparable to the Stickybomb Launcher in Team Fortress 2.
Rail Gun
Not to be confused with the sniper rifle equivalent in the Quake series, the Rail Gun is speculated to work like the Spartan Laser
