Most games nowadays are being criticized for being too short. It's gotten to the point that most triple A action and shooting games will offer about 8-10 hours of single-player gameplay and people will consider it "normal."
Don't lump Gearbox Software's upcoming Borderlands 2 to that pile, though. In an interview with Gamerzines, Gearbox VP of Marketing Steve Gibson states that players will take about 58 hours to play through Borderlands 2 — and that's just one character!
What we like to think about it is, Borderlands is a hobby. Some guide guys just did a playthrough of Borderlands 2 and they reported back to us that it takes 58 hours to play through the campaign – and that’s just one playthrough with one character.
I don't know about you, but 58 hours is a ton of time to play just one game. Also, do keep in mind that Gibson didn't state that if this means that everything in the game has been uncovered or even at what percentage it's completed.
Nevertheless, if you plan on picking up Borderlands 2 come September, I suggest clearing up your schedule for some videogame time.
Would you be okay if Borderlands 2 took more than 50 hours to fully complete or is it a tad too long?
