SEGA has announced that their upcoming racing game, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, will be coming out November 16 in Europe and November 20 in North America for Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, and Nintendo 3DS. Versions for Wii U and PC are also expected at an unknown later date.
Ostensibly a sequel to 2010's Sonic & All-Stars Racing, this transformed version still provides the core kart-racing gameplay established in the first game. Players race against each other using characters from a variety of SEGA franchises, (Sonic universe characters like Sonic, Tails, Dr. Eggman and Knuckles are a given, but the game is also confirmed to contain B.D. Joe from Crazy Taxi, Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe, among many others.) Interestingly, Ralph from Disney's upcoming Wreck-It Ralph will be making an appearance as well.
The trailer suggests some neat vehicle modes that build on the modes from the first title. While the car mode allows for drifting and air tricks, the boating mode boasts realistic boating physics and the aerial mode offers flight dynamics. Each mode allows the player to perform unique stunts, and, if I may, the trailer sells the game as rather visually impressive as well.
