In this video for one of many San Diego Comic Con 2012 panels, Quantic Dream co-CEO and writer/director David Cage talks about what it took to make the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls into a satisfying cinematic and interactive experience.
The panel, just over 11 minutes long and moderated by IGN's Greg Miller, allows Cage to take the opportunity to talk about the process of weaving an emotional, narratively deep gameplay experience together and some of the gadgets Quantic Dream has employed to help achieve these lofty goals.
With him are actress and academy award nominee Ellen Page (who plays the protagonist Jodie Holmes) and actor Kadeem Hardison (who plays Cole Freeman), who talk about their experiences being part of the project, their roles in the game, and what it's like acting while being hooked up to motion-capture technology. The session also features behind-the-scenes footage from the game's production, side-by-side clips of the motion capture set and the gameplay scenes to which the acting is mapped, and a Q&A segment at the end.
Beyond: Two Souls is a psychological action thriller expected to come to PS3 in 2013.
