United Front Games, the studio behind Sleeping Dogs and the recent Smash+Grab has shut down. The studio, which was founded in 2007, went through a tumult when it developed Triad Wars, which had an unsuccessful beta and was eventually cancelled.
The studio’s closure was announced during the early access period of Smash+Grab, which now no longer available on Steam. Smash+Grab is actually pretty good, and Sleeping Dogs was a solid open-world game that combined a Hong Kong crime storyline with Batman: Arkham style combat with the open world nature of Grand Theft Auto.
It’s unknown where the developers of United Front Games will head to now, or what will happen to their existing projects, which may be picked up by other studios to bring to completion. We’ll keep you updated.
