When the latest free Halloween update for Overwatch was released, players who checked out the new game mode were pleased to hear Mercy say “My servants never die!” as she resurrected undead creatures. It was much to their disappointment that she would only say so during this game mode, and not when players have that particular skin equipped.
To that end, fans of the game wrote a petition on the Blizzard forum, garnering over a thousand upvotes and 400+ comments in support of the idea of having customized soundbites for some of these special skins.
Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan has since responded to the affirmative, stating that the studio will add Mercy’s new line in mid-November. He did not disclose whether the other characters who got new unique skins will also be getting lines of their own, but we have our fingers crossed!
