Back in May, Creative Assembly released Total War: Warhammer. The game smashes together the tactical turn-based strategy mechanics of the Total War series, with the lore-heavy high fantasy universe of Games Workshop’s Warhammer. The base game’s four warring factions go into battle, with their respective warriors and beasts clashing to the death for glory. Expanding on the title post-launch, Total War: Warhammer has had DLC packs released that either add new factions to play as (Chaos Warriors or Beastmen for example), or enhanced the already existing ones with new Lords, quests, and battle units.
Next week, Creative Assembly is releasing The King & The Warlord DLC. The contents of which will follow the same idea as The Grim & The Grave.
The Greenskins and The Dwarfs are getting some reinforcements in this outing. They’ll both acquire a Legendary Lord to aid their cause, and there’s new skill trees, magic items, and quest chains to go along with that. But joining these two Lords are six new battlefield units and 22 elite Regiments of Renown. Belagar Ironhammer and his army of Clan Angrund Dwarfs go head-to-head against the Night-Goblin Skarsnik and his Crooked Moon Tribe. You can read a fuller list of what’s included in this add-on package here. Everyone will be getting something out of this, whether or not you want to get the paid DLC. There’s also a free update in the works, that all players will receive.
Total War: Warhammer is available now for PC (Mac/Linux). The King & The Warlord DLC is set to arrive on October 20th. To learn more about the game, check out the developer’s website, Twitter, and Facebook.
