The free-to-play team-based shooter, Paladins: Champions of the Realm is coming to consoles according to a post made on the official Paladins website. This has apparently been something on the developer’s minds, Hi-Rez, from the start and having big-name console gamers present, they were able to get a control scheme that feels just right.
Paladins: Champions of the Realm has been in the spotlight as of late for its comparisons to Blizzard’s recent video game release, Overwatch. Both offer similar gameplay with a diverse cast of characters all with their own unique abilities. However, the developers behind Paladins: Champions of the Realm attempted to put these accusations to a rest by writing up a lengthy post on Reddit.
Overall, the developers stated that Overwatch was not an inspiration for Paladins and that certain characters and gameplay was offered in beta long before these similar characters were shown in Overwatch. Regardless, it doesn’t seem that either video game is losing out on any players as both continue to be played daily.
As mentioned, development team Hi-Rez has revealed that Paladins will be coming to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, but we don’t have a release date just yet. Instead, gamers can sign up for both betas until the game officially launches into the market. Likewise, it’s worth pointing out that Paladins: Champions of the Realm can be picked up for free and played on PC through Steam.
