Grand Theft Auto VI Fans Think They Uncovered A New Wanted System Feature

January 22, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

This might be a significant change!

There is so much hype built around Grand Theft Auto VI. It’s not surprising; this behemoth of a franchise always seems to raise the bar with each installment. While it’s been a very long time since the last mainline installment was released, fans are scavenging anything and everything they can about what new features could be coming. Unfortunately, Rockstar Games is keeping things tightly sealed away, as we still only have one trailer out right now for the game.

Despite this one official trailer, a slew of leaks surfaced online prior. That gave fans some early insight into GTA 6 setting, characters, and even gameplay features, although some of those attributes might be different compared to the current development build. But fans are using elements in the leaks and the official trailer to speculate that a significant change was made to the wanted system.

Typically, in Grand Theft Auto games, once you are wanted, the police immediately recognize you and start their pursuit. Of course, you could lose the cops by changing the color of your vehicle or avoiding direct attention for a duration of time. However, this new wanted system might find that police will have a tougher time tracking you down if they don’t immediately have the necessary information to begin their search.

Players point out that in the official trailer, there was a moment when our protagonists managed to drive by a police officer going the other way. It’s believed the officer didn’t have the information on what vehicle the suspect got away in and instead continued their way to the scene of the crime. But within the same Reddit post pointing this discovery out, another user mentioned that a leaked video clip also had a message alerting the player that the cops have the full description of the vehicle used to get away.

So, we might see a change in how police react to a crime. But again, this is only speculation right now. We’ll have to wait and see whether this is the case. As it stands, we don’t have any insight into when the next Grand Theft Auto VI trailer will drop.
