If you’re a fan of the Warhammer 40,000 series then chances are you’re preparing for the next big installment, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III. This is an upcoming real-time strategy title being developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Sega. While we’re still waiting for a specific release date on the video game title, a new press release that was sent over gave us a glimpse of the Wraithknight.
Not much has been revealed about the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III video game. What we do know is that a catastrophic weapon was located on the planet Acheron. From there, we have three forces search the area, the Blood Ravens Space Marines, the Eldar, and lastly, the Ork horde.
The latest highlight of the video game comes as the Eldar’s Wraightknight which is said to be the counterpart of the Space Marine’s Imperial Knight Solaria. While the Eldar Wraithknight is monstrous in size, they are nimble and agile. It’s stated that these characters are equipped with two Heavy Wraithcannons which suits them for range combat while also having a focused beam attack that can reduce enemy mobility.
Within the press release, we got a detail list of the abilities you can expect from the Wraithknight which you can view down below.
Jump
- The Wraithknight jumps to a position. After landing, the Wraithknight will continue to slide forward for a distance, gaining increased weapon fire rate.
Distortion Rift
- The Wraithknight creates a distortion rift at a target position. The rift expands in a radius over time, pulling enemy infantry into it. Vehicles hit are slowed.
Focused Beam
- Fires a broad, long-range energy beam that deals damage to all enemies in a direction.
