Spec Ops: The Line Launch Trailer Brings the Shooting to Dubai

June 25, 2012 by Alex Co

2K Games and Yager have released the launch trailer for Spec Ops: The Line.

Yager and 2K Games are officially entering the military shooter genre with tomorrow's release of Spec Ops: The Line. However, the game tries to differentiate itself from the horde by taking place in Dubai and using sand as a game-changer.

You can see how they're trying to do that with the game's launch trailer.

The game's "plot" follows Agent Martin Walker as he and his team go to Dubai to extract a US Army Colonel. I won't go into any more specifics other than that as to avoid spoilers. However, this being a military shooter, expect the usual tropes that accompany the sub-genre…by that, I mean guns, explosions, lots of cursing and a wafer-thin plot that's just there to give our protagonists a reason to justify all that killing.

Are you planning on getting this? If you want to take a sneak peek, the demo's been out for a few weeks now on the PSN, Xbox LIVE and PC.
