Capcom has announced plans to create sequels for Dragon's Dogma due to the game's success worldwide.
In a press release put out by the company today, Capcom called Dragon's Dogma its 55th game to ship over a million units, citing great demand for the title. The publisher says Dragon's Dogma set a first-week sales record in Japan as the best-selling new IP launch in a decade.
Due to its success, Capcom intends to turn Dragon's Dogma into a full fledged franchise, with multiple sequels planned over the next few years. Like the company's other successful franchises, we may even see Dragon's Dogma branch off into anime and film.
Dragon's Dogma was released late May on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
