The next Mortal Kombat film, according to bloody-disgusting, will follow the story of a super market clerk who discovers he has powers beyond what he could have ever imagined. As the world goes to hell around him, he needs to decide whether to use his powers for benefit of good or for evil. The problem is, without the help of the evil characters, he'd never have discovered his powers and they're not going to let him go without a fight.
It sounds worryingly like Transformers to me; put an ordinary kid in the middle of an extraordinary situation (with a little bit of blood and a few explosions, plus as much cleavage as possible) and watch as the theatres fill internationally. Previously there had been high hopes for the reinvention of the film, thanks to the attachment of Mortal Kombat: Rebirth director Kevin Tancharoen, but with this I'm feeling a little less "into" it.
Mortal Kombat will be released in 2013, so expect a bit more information towards the end of the year.
