Yuke's has recently acquired the Lingerie Football League license, which is apparently a thing, and plan on creating a video game based on the sport.
If you are like me and completely unfamiliar with the LFL, it's a 7-on-7 sport where women dressed in protective pads (and little else) play indoor football, American not European. Currently there are only 12 teams in the LFL, but there are plans to more than double that number in the coming four seasons. That's right, four seasons. The LFL is apparently the "US' fastest growing sports league" (quote courtesy of BusinessWeek) explaining why Yuke's, responsible for such titles as Undisputed and Smackdown!, are interested in snagging the license.
The goal of the project is to capture the "essence of the intensity, speed, beauty and on-the-field action" of LFL football. According to Operation Sports, "The core global fan base of the LFL which consists of nearly 60% Men 18-34 perfectly aligns with the gaming world’s target demographic."
I'm certain the other 40% are dogs that have had the TV left on for them in their owners' absence.
Well, it isn't like this sets us back a few decades or anything.
