Excited for Aliens: Colonial Marines? I know there are thousands and thousands of people out there patiently waiting for a chance to play a decent game set in the Aliens universe, so it might please some of those people to know that Gearbox aren't thinking of letting the series settle after release. They're already thinking through the details of a potential sequel.
“We’re imagining things – there’s a distinct possibility,” Brian Burleson, producer on Colonial Marines, told Gamerzines. “We are making the game in such a way that could support certain possibilities, but nothing is certain so we have to leave lots of ground.”
“I think when people finish playing the game, they’ll definitely want more. We’re not just tagging off the end of the game and saying, ‘That’s the end of the Aliens chronology for this sort of thing’. We want to continue it…”
No doubt it's cost a lot of money to get the game to a point where it's playable and suitable for modern machines, so of course they're not going to dismiss anything just yet. Still, this sort of thing always depends on sales, so be sure to convince everybody you know to buy into Gearbox's latest if you want to see another trip to space: where nobody can hear you scream.
