Rovio released this video today, announcing that they have partnered with the Philadelphia Eagles, you know, the fooseball team? They are taking advantage of the fact that the Eagles mascot is a bird and could fit easily into their game.
The video features a press conference where Andy Reid, head coach of the Eagles, swallows his pride and sings for his supper. He announces five new “team members” that are inevitably four Angry Birds and a yet-to-be-revealed Eagle Angry Bird. This fall, Philly fans, and presumably no one else, will be excited to see the Philly Eagle in a special version of Angry Birds.
Has anyone at Rovio ever been to a sporting event in Philly? It’s brutal. They booed Santa, what makes you think that Angry Birds will get off any easier?
As a Pittsburgh native, I need very little reason to hate Philly, and this just adds to the list. So, thanks, Rovio!
