Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us was a massive hit for a brand new IP. It’s hard to believe that its been three years since the video game release, but for some of us, we’re still holding out hope that Naughty Dog is preparing a sequel and fans of the game are not the only ones who would love to see another installment.
GameSpot recently got a chance to speak with Ashley Johnson, who was the voice actress for one of the two main protagonists within The Last of Us, Ellie. Apparently, Ashley Johnson would not only love to see a sequel come out for The Last of Us, but she wouldn’t mind lending her talents for the character Ellie again. However, at the same time, the voice actress could see how Naughty Dog could leave the IP as a standalone title.
“I feel like if they were to pursue it again, if they were to have another story for Ellie or Joel or that whole world, I would totally jump on board. But you know there’s also a part of me that thinks, ‘Man, the story could stand alone,’ and sometimes we should just leave it alone. If they were to make another one, though, I would love to be a part of it.”
There’s no word on if Naughty Dog is working on a sequel to The Last of Us quite yet, but a movie adaptation has been considered. Although, there’s still no news regarding the current status of the film, regardless, we’re eager to see if Naughty Dog does anything else when it comes to their popular apocalyptic IP.
