Bethesda's Todd Howard has just announced at E3 2012 that the Dawnguard DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is set for release on June 26—that's just 20 days away.
Todd Howard says that the expansion pack, which adds vampires and vampire hunters called the Dawnguard, will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 for 30 days. It will be made available to gamers on the PlayStation 3 and PC after the timed exclusive expires. The Dawnguard expansion will also add new items and weapons, including crossbows—a new weapon type.
According to Howard, players can expect to have 10-20 hours of new gameplay from the DLC.
Dawnguard is the first of several large expansion packs Bethesda is developing for the award-winning RPG Skyrim.
It is unknown at this point whether the new content will be as editable as the rest of the game on the PC. Keep your fingers crossed, modders.
