Sony’s Playstation VITA handheld has been struggling lately. As with many things, it saw a strong debut, but then sales dropped off. However, it’s how well a particular system does after this dip in sales that determines its success.
The VITA has not been doing so hot, and that may perhaps be an understatement. Sony released the portable device just a few months ago, and already it is falling behind Nintendo’s 3DS. The launch library of titles available to PSVita users was lackluster, which probably accounts for the system’s current situation.
However, Sony isn’t ready to throw in the towel just yet: they’re planning big things with big people. It’s been announced that Sony and Youtube plan to create a partnership later this month. Youtube will be coming to the PSVita in an official app, which will hopefully create just a little more buzz for the system.
Do you think that this will help the handheld, or is it just another gimmick to shut the naysayers up for a few days?
