From the development studio over at The Farm 51 comes Get Even, a psychological horror action game being published by Bandai Namco. It’s apparently been in the works for a few years now, but this new trailer is a promising sign of life for the title.
Well that’s one heck of a jumbled sequence. In that video we get to see what’s clearly parts of the game in action: there’s a bit of that survival horror vibe going on, mixed in with some first person shooter stuff. But story wise, we’re left to the description in order to make sense of what’s going on here.
With Cole Black’s memory lost, his job is to find out why a teenage girl has a bomb strapped to her chest. GET EVEN’s twisted tale will have players questioning their perceptions of reality and the true meaning of justice as they unravel the mystery of how Cole ended up in the asylum and the fate of that teenage girl. GET EVEN will deliver an unparalleled sense of immersion through the use of Auro-3D acoustics technology from Auro Technologies.
“Reality bending” probably pertains to the Oculus Rift-like device strapped on someone’s head. Maybe they’re forced to wear it, and it delivers images in order to control that dude’s mind? Overall, the trailer is one of those videos where curious people need to go back and replay it piece by piece in order to decipher all the points of interest. From what’s seen in the pictures on the game’s website, Get Even may take place over the course of years – with the player putting on their detective hat in order to solve the mysteries that unfold.
The reality bender that is Get Even arrives in Spring 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. To question your sanity even further, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
