Zen Studios is looking to rock the new IP boat with what they call a “music combat game,” coming in the form of “KickBeat.”
The game will be coming out exclusively for the PSVita, and will likely make use of the platform’s many unique features. You will be able to use a wide array of martial arts moves in timing with the music, in essence, creating your own series of devastating attacks.
Apparently, the soundtrack will be comprised of a large number of different artists, including the likes of Pendulum – a popular Drum and Bass band; also in attendance will be Marilyn Manson and many more lesser-known bands. One interesting feature is the game’s ability to import music – your music.
"Kickbeat is a showcase example of passion, risk and creativity," said Zen Studios’ chief, Zsolt Kigyossy.
"Traditional publishers might shy away from this type of thinking, but we will embrace it. After all, what's the point of working in video games if you just keep making the same one?"
