The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild along with a new Mario and Pokemon game will be released for the NX within six months after its launch. Nintendo is determined to get the NX off to a strong start, according to MCV.
Nintendo plans to have its biggest first-party franchises available around the time of the launch.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be out sometime in 2017 for both the Wii U and NX. MCV says Game Freak, “will bring Pokemon to the platform”. However, we don’t know if this is going to be a brand new game, or a port of Pokemon Sun/Moon.
The new Mario title is also unclear, as its name has not yet been released. Nintendo has also secured third-party support from Sega, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Activision, and Warner Bros.
Nintendo did confirm that the NX’s global release date will be in March 2017 but did not say anything else about it. This was in order to protect a certain feature of the NX.
“In terms of NX, there’s an idea that we’re working on,” said Shigeru Miyamoto. “That’s why we can’t share anything at this point, and I don’t want to comment on the other companies. If it was just a matter of following advancements in technology, things would be coming out a lot quicker.”
