In order to set the stage for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Square Enix and the development team have put out a gallery of artistic renderings, that depict the major cities of 2029 in a state of turmoil due to the effects of the Aug Incident. From Blackpool and London, to Barcelona, and even Moscow, the future is a darker place.
What was the “Aug Incident” event? It was a massive malfunction of mechanically-augmented people in 2027, where they lost control of themselves and attacked those around them. Millions of lives were lost as a result. By 2029, the world has ended up divided into groups as a result of this fear, and nobody seems to know or understand what to do for the future.
This is the new world that Adam Jensen finds himself in. He’ll have to deal with this panicked global society as he tries to stop a global conspiracy that threatens to shake things up even more than they already have. But he won’t be alone, as Jensen is now equipped with more deadlier weapons and augmentations than he’s ever had access to before.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided arrives on August 23rd for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. To stay in the know about the game, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
