It looks like Overwatch can’t escape the Summer Olympics fever. If a new photo is to be believed, there might be Rio de Janeiro content coming to the game. The news came via a Twitter reveal from a Twitch Streamer by the name of LacedUpLauren.
Unboxed a package from @PlayOverwatch, & this was what was inside. New Olympic skins and a map?! Or just cool items! pic.twitter.com/32z8VV3uzk

What it has inside is pictures of Overwatch characters like Tracer and Zarya dressed up as Olympic athletes. Although Blizzard decided to play it safe with the logo they used, sticking with a “Summer Games 2016” emblem. The key feature of the package is the center picture, a domed Rio de Janeiro arena, which might indicate a possible seasonal map to correlate with the real life events.
This news correlates with a post made by Jeff Kaplan three days ago on the Overwatch forums.
We have Legendary and Epic skins coming soon. Rares will most likely be tied to new hero releases (with Ana we introduced Rare, Epic and Legendary skins).
Certainly a good reason to be hopeful at least. Overwatch is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
