It was last year that Yooka-Laylee was successfully funded through Kickstarter. One of the kickbacks to donating money towards the development of this IP was a demo known as Toybox. Today, thanks to a press announcement that was sent over, that demo for Yooka-Laylee has officially launched for those selected Kickstarter backers.
As mentioned, if you backed Yooka-Laylee and your pledge was big enough to unlock the Toybox tier then you can now enjoy the demo. This demo is not part of the main game, but instead gives gamers a small taste as to how the game mechanics work before this platformer officially launches.
Yooka-Laylee is a platforming video game title from developers Playtonic Games. Interestingly enough, several key members from Rare are behind the upcoming video game title and who best to deliver a classic style platform title than some of the creative minds that helped bring out Banjo-Kazooie.
Within the game, players will control both Yooka and Laylee as they explore the Hivory Towers while making their way to battle Capital B and Dr. Quack.
So far, Yooka-Laylee doesn’t have a specific release date quite yet though it’s slated to launch at some point early 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC.
