Batman The Telltale Series Gets August Release, Premieres Story Trailer

We finally see some solid gameplay action from the Telltale Batman adventure.

You want to see if the Batman Telltale series will live up to the same heightened drama and experience as the recent live-action movies delivered this past decade? You’re in luck. Telltale finally debuted a trailer showing off their Batman game up close and personal for the first time. No more simple still images, no more short voice-over clips. This is the real deal.

Enter the fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne and discover the powerful and far-reaching consequences of your choices as the Dark Knight. In this gritty and violent new story from the award-winning creators of The Walking Dead – A Telltale Games Series, you’ll make discoveries that will shatter Bruce Wayne’s world, and the already fragile stability of a corrupt Gotham City.

As alluded to in the trailer, the Batman Telltale series will deal with the theme of Bruce Wayne balancing both his personas. It’s a tale of intrigue. Bruce Wayne helps Harvey Dent’s campaign, but according to Vicky Vale there’s reason to believe that Crime has made it’s way into politics too. In his battle to take down Carmine Falcone, Cat Woman shows up, Commissioner Gordon is there too. It’s not going to be a direct knock-off of the movies, which is great. It seems like Telltale has set up an overarching storyline that fits into the Batman universe fairly nicely.

Episode 1, Realm of Shadows, will be available on August 2nd for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, Ps3, PC, as well as mobile devices.
