Remember how we showed you all the giant NES controller coffee table that was also a functional, fully working controller? Well, if the $3500 price tag was a little too steep for you, don’t start selling your organs to science just yet — you can make your own for around $100.
The team over at Mario Marathon not only made their own version of the coffee table for less than a really nice designer jacket, but they’ve also posted step-by-step instructions for those playing at home.
The good news is that if you have an old Gamecube controller or any of the other materials laying around you can probably do it for even cheaper. The most expensive part of the controller for the Mario Marathon guys was the MDF, which cost $30, and the entire thing cost approximately $105 to make.
