A Look At PlayStation’s VR Game Boxes

July 10, 2016 by Kris Kittie

What’s different about them?

A few online retailers have begun to showcase the Playstation VR game box art. Sony does plan to differentiate its titles for the virtual reality component of their games, but how?

There are two major differences for these VR games. First, the phrase “You’ll need these” will appear on the box art to remind players they will need both a PlayStation VR headset and Playstation Camera in order to play the game. Also, a blue banner with “Playstation VR” also appears on the box art.

The artwork for Guerrilla Games’ Rigs: Mechanized Combat League and London Studios’ Playstation VR Worlds were both recently put up on Best Buy’s website.

Rigs has a current price point of $49.99 and Playstation VR Worlds is listed at $39.99. In addition, Batman Arkham VR is retailing for only $19.99. This suggests that Rocksteady is shaving down the price intentionally for its VR spin-off to be more budget-friendly.

The official launch for the PlayStation VR is set for October 13th.
