Valve Could be Looking into Making its Own Console

While there were rumors about a month ago concerning Valve’s possible foray into the console development area, a job posting put up earlier today only confirms what is sure to be the inevitable.

The recruiting page in question calls for an electronics engineer who will join the Research and Development team at Valve. The listing is very specific about what they are looking to do in regards to hardware.

“We’re developing hardware to enhance those experiences, and you can be a key part of making that happen. Join our highly motivated team that’s doing hardware design, prototyping, testing, and production across a wide range of platforms,” reads the listing.

While the previous statement somewhat disvalues the idea we might see Valve making a brand new console – “…across a wide range of platforms,” – we are not losing the trail so quickly, because they then made an extremely loaded statement.

“We’re not talking about me-too mice and gamepads here – help us invent whole new gaming experiences.”
