You've all probably seen the Resident Evil 6 trailer that's been flying around the internet, and you most likely know the game's release date by now. But you've probably not heard much about the other details about the game, like co-op and the New Game Plus mode.
Like the previous Resident Evil title, Resident Evil 6 will have co-op, which consists of two players plus a partner. New to this game is the fact that your co-op partner can join in at any time during game play with drop-in, drop-out functionality. The game also allows for split-screen functionality in local co-op, which is split horizontally and the UI can be customized by being moved left or right. Different players will get a different UI screen.
As for the new game mode, it really isn't a new addition to the series at all. Mercenaries comes back to Resident Evil 6 but with a slight twist: You can play it without beating the game first. This is similar to Portal 2's co-op, but the devs hope that you play the regular game mode first before going on to the mercenaries mode.
