For your consideration: a couple of brutally sadistic Devil May Cry videos, featuring a Dante with a deliciously modern haircut.
Dante seems to be trapped in a world where he can only move forward in a straight line while shit around him blows up and metal music is playing. At least he looks stylish while kicking some ass – he’s really working those boots and that jacket. Haters took umbrage to Dante’s new look, but I dare you to look at these videos and not be taken with how exciting they look. Then again, it’s difficult to watch something with metal playing over it and not have it gain a few cool points.
Also notable is the glimpse we get at the types of combos that Dante can pull off. The system will attribute some kind of silly adjective to tell you how well you are doing – DIRTY! CRUEL! SAVAGE! ….ANARCHIC? and it comes off a lot like “look, mom, I swear to god I’m cool.” That said, it looks like the attacks we can perform will be very gratifying.
