Warner Bros. Interactive and Kodokawa Games have done a great job getting the word out about Lollipop Chainsaw's versatile wardrobe, but glimpses of the games action have been hard to come by in video form (it's been publicly playable several times).
We've finally got some gameplay! Five solid minutes! What did you think?
I'm at a point where I know if I play a Suda51 game, I'm doing it for the aesthetic; I never anything beyond mediocre gameplay. That's just how his works have stacked up for me and it's pretty much the same here. The game's sword combat doesn't look like it'll be comepeting with Bayonetta or Ninja Gaiden, but I'm happy to say it looks great and like it plays solidly enough. The shooting… no comment.
But like I said, I'm in it for the art and really, the more I see this game, the whole of the presentation pulls me in. The voice acting sounds great, it's got a script 100% written by James Gunn (of Super fame) and the licensed tracks for the game sound like an awesome mix (Sleigh Bells!!).
Lollipop Chainsaw is out June 12 in North America and June 15 in Europe on PS3 and Xbox 360. You can pre-order in various places to get various costumes.
