Respawn Entertainment will release all of Titanfall 2’s DLC maps and game modes for free, Titanfall 2 lead programmer Jon Shiring said.
“One of our lessons is we’re not gonna sell maps anymore,” he told PC Gamer. “All the modes and maps coming to Titanfall 2 after release will all be free.”
Titanfall 2 will be released October 28 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game will feature six new titans, with expanded pilot gameplay, customization options, and a fleshed out progression system.
A single-player campaign will also be available offline, and will center on the “unique bond” between a Pilot and a Titan.
Additionally, Titanfall 2 will offer a few different editions, which we’ve detailed here. There’s the Deluxe Edition, which sells for $79.99, and the Titanfall 2 Vanguard SRS Collector’s Edition, which retails at $249.99.
Nearly $250 may sound steep for a video game, but the helmet that comes with the game is actually wearable. With it comes a dog tag flash drive, field journal, helmet accessories, patches, and a scarf.
