Get it? Rockets past 10-million downloads?
Sorry, obvious troll is obvious. Anyway, the popular Angry Birds franchise has just recently released its Space edition. While some were concerned that the formula might be growing stale, it seems Rovio has done it again. Whether it was their clever marketing tactics (Turning the Seattle Space Needle into a giant slingshot) or just the series’ pervasiveness, millions of people are now enjoying the pick-up-and-play game.
What is even more amazing about this feat is that unlike many other game franchises, Angry Birds seems to be gaining steam rather than losing it. The previous record set by Rovio was 10-million copies of Angry Birds Rio sold in 10 days. If you look at the numbers, it’s obvious that fans just want more. It’s safe to say that this won’t be the last entry in the series, given the numbers we are seeing.
Good job, Rovio.
