Slant Six not sure why Raccoon City is getting Negative Reviews

March 22, 2012 by Mat Growcott

Another situation where fans are loving a game, but critics are finding faults.

Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City became a no-go for me when I discovered splitscreen co-op had been either dropped or something that I'd dreamt up. Much later down the road, it received more than its fair share of negative reviews with critics knocking both how short it was and buggy AI. This seemed to confirm my thoughts that it's something to pick up a little further down the line, but things have become a little hazy since release.

The thing is, fans seem to absolutely adore it and, indeed, checking messages to Slant Six, the developer, on Twitter shows that reaction has been more than a little warm. One of the company's followers struggled to figure out where this gap between critics and fans was coming from.

“Us too,”  the developer replied. “We’re listening to the players though and they seem to like it and that is the most important thing.

“We’re pumped on all the great feedback from players. Thanks for sharing with us."
