Capcom has made the big announcement Monster Hunter Wilds fans on Nintendo have been waiting for.

They made this announcement on social media:
The hunt is on, wherever you go! #MHWilds launches on Nintendo Switch 2, Dec 4.
- Wireless local play
- Cross-play
- All Free Title Updates
Prepare yourself for Master Rank and the massive expansion, #Ascendance, also coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027!
February’s rumor has been proven correct, as you can have as many as four players coming together to play Monster Hunter Wilds in local multiplayer.
We don’t know if the rumors about the game’s performance on Switch 2 are true, but it certainly looks great in this trailer. Capcom famously said that they needed to learn the Switch 2’s hardware before they even considered porting this title. With 10 Capcom games coming to Nintendo’s platform this year, it’s safe to say that they learned.
This feature also means the return of Monster Hunter meetups, so you may want to check on your old 3DS buddies if they want to reconnect, so to speak.
