LEGO may be making Mario minifigures after all.
LEGO started a very successful collaboration with Nintendo with LEGO Super Mario back in 2020. These larger brick toys simulated playing a Mario video game with a voice interaction feature.
LEGO played with other Nintendo IPs, and most recently made LEGO Mario Kart sets. But it seems LEGO wasn’t against making minifigures of these characters after all.
According to Unibricks, a new set of LEGO Super Mario toysets will release January 2027, with each set featuring minifigures. The sets are as follows:
- Mario’s Pipe Jump – $ 9.99
- Mario Kart – Racing with Mario – $ 14.99
- Mario’s Beach Adventures – $ 19.99
- Mario Kart – Luigi & Bowser Jr’s Karts – $ 29.99
- Yoshi at Mario’s House – $ 39.99
- Mario Kart – Bowser’s Rumbling Kart – $ 59.99
- Fire Mario & Bowser’s Castle – $ 99.99
- Fire Luigi vs. Koopa Troopa Battle – $ 29.99
These will of course be fun for Mario and LEGO fans, but we feel the need to point out that minifigures can be very valuable for collectors. Given Mario’s new mainstream appeal we wonder if this becomes something for speculators down the line.
