GTA Online Has Relaxed Profanity Rules – But We Don’t Know By How Much

January 9, 2026 by Ryan Parreno

Maybe Rockstar just has Bullet Club fans.

Rockstar has changed their rules for GTA Online’s banned words – but they did not elaborate.

Tez2 explained on Twitter:

Rockstar has relaxed the profanity filter with the latest update to #GTAOnline.

“Bullet Club” or other similar organization names no longer reset upon launch or switching sessions.

Tez2 also clarified that Rockstar did not share a list of allowed words, even in datamining.

Does Rockstar Games Just Have Bullet Club Fans?

Bullet Club is the name of a puroresu faction in New Japan Pro Wrestling. This group was made of mostly Western wrestlers fighting the local heroes.

New Japan retired Bullet Club this week, after merging with Unaffiliated to launch a new faction called Unbound Co.

We can’t help wonder, did Rockstar just make one exception because there are puroresu fans in the company?

If Rockstar really did expand the list of allowed words beyond this, they should share the details with fans so they are properly informed.
