One of the things that isn’t talked about as much as it likely should be is the fact that because many people are awaiting the arrival of GTA 6, which has gotten ever longer thanks to the most recent delay, you’d think that the entire gaming world is on pins and needles until it arrives. On a certain level, that’s true, as there are a LOT of people wondering about this game, what Rockstar Games is doing, how it’ll affect the release dates of other titles in 2026, and so on. However, if you think that EVERYONE is thinking about this title, you’d be wrong.
For proof of this, look at Doug Cockle, the one and only Geralt of Rivia. He had a chat with GamesRadar, and he made it clear his thoughts on the game, and what might happen if it “surpassed” his own series:
“Oh man. This is a game I really don’t care about. I think Witcher 3 is a great game. GTA 6, when it comes out, will probably be a great game. So whatever it is, it is, you know? Enjoy your games. Have fun with them.”
That says a lot about a lot, wouldn’t you say? It’s easy to get swept up in things and think that what’s happening with one specific entity is going to “change everything” and that we have to know more about it right now and such…but that’s not true. Yes, this title from Rockstar will be huge when it comes out, especially if it lives up to all the hype that’s surrounding it. However, there are plenty of things to enjoy RIGHT NOW that are just as cool, if not cooler.
One needs to remember that there are things out right now that have gotten a lot of praise and are even nominated by things like The Game Awards. If you’re looking for something to enjoy as you “fill the wait” between now and November 19th, 2026, you have options. Heck, we could make a list of the best games of 2026 if you asked us to, as there are plenty to talk about.
Arguably, the most important tidbit that our dear Witcher gave us is to “enjoy your games,” because that’s something that gets lost in the shuffle of our world today. We play video games to have fun and enjoy them to the fullest. So, don’t worry about what the game a year from now will be like; enjoy the games you have on your systems right now.
