Rockstar has released a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto Online.

The trailer came up in the official Rockstar YouTube channel for UK and Ireland. There is no British English narration, as they use captions and dialogue from the game itself.
So it’s possible that this trailer could be used in the US as well. It’s also a one minute trailer. So there’s a possibility that it could come to TV and the movies, as much as it is already online.
The Big Quote Rockstar Obviously Dropped For Us
The trailer starts with Dr. Isiah Friedlander talking offscreen. He simply says “I’m afraid our time, isn’t up yet.”
This quote is from the story campaign of Grand Theft Auto V. Friedlander is Michael De Santa’s therapist, who initially appears genuinely uninterested in his concerns.
Later in the game, however, we find out that Friedlander wrote a book about De Santa. While he records all of De Santa’s confessions, he dismisses De Santa as delusional.
In the original events of the game, you can choose to kill or spare Friedlander after he admits he intends to use De Santa’s case for his upcoming TV show.
Friendlander’s death has now been deemed to be non-canonical because of what Rockstar did next.
Friedlander Is In Grand Theft Auto Online
Friedlander becomes part of the Grand Theft Auto Online’s Los Santos Drug Wars in 2023. He is the antagonist of the contact mission Last Dose.
Last Dose is set a decade after Grand Theft Auto V. Friedlander is already an established TV doctor celebrity, and owns his own wellness and pharmaceutical business.
Friedlander gets into illicit drugs. He kidnaps a chemist to make him a new drug that’s ten times more potent than psilocybin.
Without spoiling this story even further, Friedlander also survives this campaign. That suggests that he could eventually return, even in Grand Theft Auto 6.
OK Rockstar, We Get It
This commercial almost seems like it’s targeted at the people who are looking for new trailers and marketing for Grand Theft Auto 6.
And the message they’re clearly transmitting is, you’ll have to be patient. And really, it makes sense that they would say that.
If they’re busy finishing the game now, making new marketing materials is a distraction from that. Rockstar could run marketing for Grand Theft Auto 6 for a full year – and that would mean fans waited even longer to get it.
Rockstar is clearly keeping fans busy with Grand Theft Auto Online. So we can expect them to put more work in those events, and in a limited extent, for the near future.
