Borderlands 4 Halloween Event Is First Up From The Post-Launch Roadmap

October 13, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Get ready for the Horrors of Kairos.

Borderlands fans have been enjoying the latest installment for about a month now. With Borderlands 4 launching earlier last month, fans who have been playing the game since its release might be done with the campaign. Fortunately, Gearbox Software has plans to keep you, Vault Hunters, coming back for more.

There are a few reasons to keep coming back into the game. For a while now, we have had the weekly mayhem content. This bit of content gives you an adjustment to some missions and bosses you’ll face if you’re up for the challenge. Meanwhile, we knew that there were plans for post-launch content that would appear in the fourth quarter of this year and continue until the first quarter of 2026.

Borderlands 4 Is Getting Spooky Next Week

If you’ve been looking over the roadmap, you know that the first bit of content coming our way is free. Likewise, it’s all about the Halloween season. A lot of games offer some spooky content for players to dig into throughout October. However, we got a few more details about this new content through PAX Australia.

Thanks to Gamerant, we’re learning that Gearbox Software was present during the event where it was unveiled that the seasonal event will start on October 23, 2025. It will also last through Halloween, coming to a close on November 6, 2025. With that said, we know what to expect in terms of the goodies coming our way.

For starters, we have some new weapons to add to the arsenal. These weapons can drop from world bosses, which are the Murmur Legendary Tediore Assault Rift and the Skully Legendary Order Grenade. With the assault rifle, it looks like we’ll get crit hits on enemies that have under 35% health. Likewise, the grenade will launch projectiles that will hit the closest target.

While on the subject of world bosses, it seems that we’ll also get a seasonal weather variant during these battles. Additionally, all weapons will get a new Hex Appeal skin. However, there’s one more piece of free content heading into the game with the Horrors of Kairos for all Vault Hunters. That’s the new Gourd Your Loins Jack-o-Lantern head. It’s the same head skin for each Vault Hunter, so don’t expect any variations.

Again, you can get ready for this new Halloween event for Borderlands 4. It will begin on October 23, 2025, and will last until November 6, 2025. It will also give us a look at what we can kind of expect from future seasonal events.
