Borderlands 4, Final Fantasy Tactics and More Continue Loaded September Gaming Lineup

September 8, 2025 by Todd Black

You have a lot of options.

September is already off to a hot start, as a certain indie game is breaking all manner of expectations and records since its launch on Thursday. However, you might think that this game is the only one that should “have your attention” in September. But no, it’s not. There are plenty of other games that September has to get your attention, and we’re here to tell you about them all, starting with Borderlands 4. The latest entry from Gearbox Software promises to fix certain mistakes from the past and will have more over-the-top action than ever before. That includes using new Vault Hunters to the fullest, ensuring that the new planet you’re on is worthy of your time, and that the guns you’ll be able to wield are in the tens of billions! The game comes out on Friday! So you won’t have to wait long to see what it’s all about.

Another big title coming out this month is Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles. There’s to be grateful for, here, including that it’s coming out at the end of the month, on September 30th, so you don’t have to worry about rushing through the other games on this list just so you can finally play this. The tactics-based RPG masterpiece was legendary when it first came out, and fans have been wanting a remaster/remake for some time. They’re about to get it and get refined and expanded content that’ll raise the value of the title even more! So, if you’ve always wanted a sequel, show Square Enix your intent by buying this game.

Then, there’s Silent Hill F, which drops on the 25th. This is arguably one of the biggest gambits on the list, as Konami hasn’t done the best job with keeping its horror franchise alive and meaningful. Yes, they had the remake last year, but that doesn’t really count. An all-new story will attempt to take the horror to new levels and showcase what Konami still has left in the tank.

If you’re looking for something a bit more low-key, then you could always get something like Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, which also releases on the 25th. No, SEGA isn’t trying to “counter” what happened with Mario earlier this year. Instead, they’re trying to bring even more life into Sonic’s racing title, and one of the key ways they’re doing that is by ramping up the racing and adding a loaded roster full of crossover talent!

And that only scratches the surface of what’s yet to come out this month.
