There are numerous fans who have continued to ask about Capcom’s attempt to revive the iconic Dino Crisis franchise. After all, we’re living in an era where remakes and remastered editions are dominating. Capcom is also experiencing more than its share of success with remakes. But what’s going on with this franchise, and why does it remain dormant?
While Capcom is seeing the benefits of remakes with the Resident Evil franchise, wouldn’t now be the ideal time to get a Dino Crisis remake out? There’s a fan base out there for it, but so far, news about this IP has remained nonexistent. That said, a new rumor has started to circulate online from a prominent insider. Did Capcom already have plans for this IP to come back into the limelight?
Capcom Recently Had Two Attempts At A Dino Crisis Revival

The insider with a strong following, primarily for the Resident Evil franchise, is Dusk Golem. If you’re a fan of Resident Evil, chances are you’re aware of Dusk Golem. Of course, they have also shared the details they know about other IPs in the industry, such as Silent Hill 2, before the remake was released, along with Dino Crisis.
Recently, Dusk Golem took to X and revealed that there had already been a couple of attempts at bringing Dino Crisis back into the marketplace. This is all within the last decade, as the first attempt was made through Capcom Vancouver before it was shut down. It’s noted that Dusk Golem even has some of the leaked materials from this project.
Meanwhile, there was another attempt just a few years ago. We don’t have any details about what was working on this attempt, but apparently, it didn’t progress well. If the report is to be believed, that second attempt didn’t even proceed past the prototyping stage.
Hopefully, we will see Dino Crisis return at some point. Fans continue to ask about this IP. We only have three mainline installments, with the first two receiving positive reviews. However, by the time Capcom released Dino Crisis 3, the game was more or less found to be mediocre.
