Dragon’s Dogma: Pawn Companion System Explained

March 7, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

Dragon’s Dogma sees the addition of a Pawn companion system that allows you to share your companion with other players.

Capcom has released a new trailer of Dragon's Dogma. The new video shows off how characters progress throughout the game, and is the first of a four-part series on progression in the RPG.

The first episode in the series details the game's Pawns, who exist to serve players—the Arisen. The pawns are your companions, and can be shared with other players online.

Likewise, other players can share their pawns with you. Every time your pawn is used by another player, they will return with rewards that benefit you. They will bring back experience points, resources, and rift crystals.

Dragon's Dogma will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 22.
