[Mass Effect 2 Spoilers Ahead]
As an RPG with a complex save system, Mass Effect had decisions which carried over to the sequel, Mass Effect 2. In essence, the game takes into account the choices you make in the previous title. Choosing whether Ashley or Kaidan survived at the end of Mass Effect was one such major decision which carried over to the next game.
Mass Effect 3 is no different, and allows you to import a savegame from Mass Effect 2. Here are some of the largest decisions that the new game takes into account from your save:
- If you saved or killed the Rachni Queen
- If you have saved Ashley Williams or Kaidan Alenko on Virmire
- If you killed or let Wrex live on Virmire
- If you have saved the Council or let them die
- If you have saved Maelon’s research on the Genophage or destroyed it
- If you chose to rewrite the geth heretics or destroyed them
- The squadmates you saved or allowed to die in Mass Effect 2's suicide mission.
- Your romances in both Mass Effect 1 & 2
- What you chose to do with the Collector base at the end of Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 3 is now available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC via Origin.
