Rockstar Games is busy working away at their next big release, Grand Theft Auto VI. We knew for a good while that they have been chipping away at this title, with the initial reveal confirming a 2025 launch window. Of course, we also know that’s no longer happening. Instead, the game was pushed back to 2026 for its new planned release. But today, if one rumor is to be believed, this development team is having a real problem with how to close up this game campaign.
There are never any shortages when it comes to rumors and leaks in the video game industry. This is especially true for popular AAA games coming out into the marketplace, like GTA 6. However, there are some individuals online who have a track record with leaks that gain a little more attention than others. One of those for Grand Theft Auto VI is GameRoll. If you don’t recall, this is the individual online who revealed the last names of the two protagonists before they were officially unveiled.
Thanks to Dexerto, we’re finding out today that GameRoll recently took to Discord and revealed a new little detail. Although we recently received an update on leaked information from this person, it has been reported that the fifth chapter of the game is currently in development hell. That’s also reportedly the last chapter of the game campaign.
If true, the time is running out for developers to get this game back on track before it reaches the planned launch date this coming year. Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that GameRoll has stated that the trailers revealed so far only feature content up to chapter three of the campaign.
Again, take this as nothing more than a rumor right now. Rockstar Games is currently working towards releasing Grand Theft Auto VI into the marketplace on May 26, 2026. When it does launch, you’ll find it available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
